Family members of 73-year old Alfonza Jeffers, who died in what police are calling a targeted, drug-related shooting, want to make sure he is remembered as the man they knew.

His niece, Ramona Gore says he was a Vietnam veteran who struggled with PTSD and self-medicated with drugs, but she believes his name is being unfairly sullied by this incident.

She says Deputies released Jeffers' name before her family had a chance to confirm his body's identity.

Gore wants people to know a different side of her uncle.

“The man that I know, that took care of me, did things for me because I didn’t have a mother. Took care of me in so many different ways.” Ramona Gore, Alfonza Jeffers' niece, said.

Four others were found shot to death Wednesday night.

The Sheriff told WRAL the home was used for illegal drug sales.

WRAL spoke to the sheriff Friday and he says there are "persons of interest" but he's not saying who they are or connecting them to a bigger picture.
