'Family Feud' appearance was bonding experience for Raleigh siblings
Nada Elhertani's fanaticism paid off! Her family won $20,000 on an episode of Family Feud that aired on FOX 50.
They told WRAL News that the best part was not just the win but arranging schedules so the siblings could spend time together as adults.
"It was with my siblings," Nada said.
Brother Mo Elhertani added, "We grew up together, we're very close, but this was like really the first time since we were kids that we did something this closely and have to actually rely on each other since we've been adults."
Once they got the news in January that they would be on the show, the Elhertanis buckled down to practice.
"We have a board game, we have the flash cards, I printed out previous questions," said brother-in-law Mohammed Fallaha. "We wanted to be prepared as possible."
Another brother-in-law even stood in for host Steve Harvey in their practice games.
In the months between the time the show taped in Atlanta and aired in Raleigh, the Elhertanis had to keep the outcome close to the vest.
"People ask all the time, and they think you're going to crack, and they look for any hints," said Dana Elhertani.
The siblings had to come up with a creative way to dodge the question.
Mo Elhertani said, "I was like, 'You'd rather me tell you right now, you know, in those two seconds, than take all the fun of actually watching it and see what happens?'"
