Monday

Clayton Piano Festival (The Piazza at Portofino, 25 Paraggi Court, Clayton) - Concert pianist Zsolt Bognar will perform. There will be a reception afterward.

Open Mic Monday (North Street Beer Station, 521 W. North St., Raleigh) - Open mic night starts at 7 p.m. weekly.

Tuesday

A Bronx Tale (DPAC, 123 Vivian Street, Durham) - This Broadway hit takes you to the stoops of the Bronx in the 1960s, where a young man is caught between the father he loves and the mob boss he'd love to be. See it at DPAC through Sunday.

Astronomy on Tap (Fullsteam, 726 Rigsbee Ave., Durham) - This free event features accessible, engaging science presentations on topics ranging from planets to black holes to the beginning of the universe. Presenters and other scientists will stick around for beer and chatting.

Open Mic Extravaganza (Goodnights, 861 W. Morgan St., Raleigh) - This free comedy open mic night starts at 8 p.m.

Wednesday

The Neighbourhood (The Ritz, 2820 Industrial Dr., Raleigh) - The alternative rock band is known for its hits like "Sweater Weather."

Irish Whiskey Dinner (Trali Irish Pub & Restaurant, 3107 Grace Park Drive, Morrisville) - Enjoy five whiskey tastings and courses like cheddar and jalapeno soup, mussels In Kerrygold garlic butter and whiskey sauce.

Q&A: NASA Astronaut Zena Cardman (Memorial Hall, 114 E. Cameron Ave., Chapel Hill) - The UNC alumna and astronaut will share her journey from conducting research as a student to training for future space missions.

Thursday

Now That's Funny Comedy Show (Palace International Rest, 1104 Broad St., Durham) - Dave Martin from "HBOs Bad Boys of Comedy" will perform.

Holiday Shoppe at Cary Academy (1500 N. Harrison Avenue, Cary) - There will be 60+ vendors, including artisans, clothing retailers and food connoisseurs. The market runs through Saturday.

Friday

Brewer's Ball (The Rickhouse, 609 Foster St., Durham) - This tasting event features food and craft beers to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
