Wake County Bourbon Trail (Tribeca Tavern, 500 Ledgestone Way, Cary) - Start in Cary at 5 p.m. and travel by shuttle to several other bars to taste bourbons and enjoy food. Tickets are $10.

Toad the Wet Sprocket (Carolina Theatre of Durham, 309 W. Morgan Street, Durham) - Tickets to see the alternative band are $45.
An Intimate Evening with Sarah McLachlan (DPAC, 123 Vivian Street, Durham) - The singer-songwriter will be in the Triangle one night only.
Cane Hill (Local 506, 506 W. Franklin Street, Chapel Hill) - This heavy metal band is from New Orleans.
Treevia: Forest-Themed Trivia (Oak & Dagger Public House, 18 Seaboard Avenue, #150, Raleigh) - Hosted by Dogwood Alliance, this game features famous trees in pop culture, awe-inspiring tidbits about the magic of the forest and shocking facts about forest destruction here in North Carolina. A $5 donation is suggested, and all proceeds go to the alliance.
Wednesday
The Six Pack Standup Show (North Street Beer Station, 521 W. North Street, Raleigh) - This monthly comedy showcase featuring six handpicked comics.
Pickin' in the Pines (Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary) - Tickets are just $5 for this outdoor bluegrass concert.
Raise the Bar (Fox Liquor Bar, 237 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh) - Seven chefs, including Ashley Christensen, Scott Crawford and Vivian Howard, will prepare a signature bar snack, while five bartenders make craft cocktails. Tickets include all food and beverages and will benefit North Carolina Community Foundation's disaster relief fund, which serves rural areas in the southeast.
Banned Books Trivia (Fullsteam Brewery, 726 Rigsbee Ave, Durham) - This trivia is all about dangerous, salacious, and forbidden...books. In celebration of Banned Books Week, teams of 10 can test their knowledge of these stories.
Thursday
International Bluegrass Music Awards Show (Raleigh Memorial Auditorium) - Honoring excellence and featuring outstanding performances and once-in-a-lifetime moments, professional members of the IBMA will recognize their peers’ outstanding achievements throughout the year.
Comics Against Humanity (Goodnights, 861 W. Morgan Street, Raleigh) - Watch as the best local comedians improvise their sets on the spot using cards from the game as inspiration!
Vince Gill (Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary) - The country singer-songwriter will perform at 7 p.m.
North Hills Block Party (4321 Lassiter at North Hills Avenue, Raleigh) - Enjoy food tastings from your favorite restaurants in North Hills, a vendor village, giveaways, lawn games and more. UPDATE: This event has been moved to Tuesday, Oct. 2.
Friday
Art of Cool Festival (Durham) - Nas and Erykah Badu will headline the two-day festival in downtown Durham.
Wide Open Bluegrass Festival (Red Hat Amphitheater, City Plaza) - This festival features ticketed events at Red Hat Amphitheater and a free street festival in downtown Raleigh.
Black Panther Movie Party (N.C. Museum of Art, 2110 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh) - The NCMA will pay homage to the beautiful land of Wakanda with special music and art-making activities before an outdoor screening of Black Panther. Food trucks will be on hand.
International Folk Festival (Festival Park in Fayetteville) - Festivities will take place in downtown Fayetteville and at the park over three days. The free festival includes street dances, a Parade of Nations, live performances, authentic cuisine, arts and crafts vendors and an American Indian Showcase.
