Monday

Metallica (PNC Arena, 1400 Edwards Mill Road, Raleigh) - The band is visiting 34 cities, including Raleigh. The tour will mark a few firsts for the band.

The Last Chance Riders (The Pour House Music Hall, 224 S Blount Street, Raleigh) - The band is known for their soulful powerhouse vocals.

Into the Fog (The Pit, 321 West Geer Street, Durham) - The Wilmington string band encompasses a wide array of genres from bluegrass to folk music.

Tuesday

Gilmore Girls Trivia (Unscripted Hotel, 202 Corcoran Street, Durham) - "Gilmore Girls" fans can unite at this event, which starts at 7 p.m.

Neko Case (Memorial Hall, 114 E. Cameron Avenue, Chapel Hill) - The independent singer-songwriter will perform at 7:30 p.m. The performance is co-produced with Cat’s Cradle. Tickets from $19.

Legendary Tuesday Bonzanza Jam + Drink & Draw (Imurj, 300 S. McDowell Street, Raleigh) - Artists and musicians can express themselves and enjoy drink specials weekly at this downtown Raleigh venue.

Wednesday

Russell Peters (DPAC, 123 Vivian Street, Durham) - Russell Peters returns to live touring after taking time off to film his smash hit Netflix series The Indian Detective. He will be at DPAC for one night only.

The Steel Wheels (Motorco Music Hall, 723 Rigsbee Avenue, Durham) - Hailing from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, The Steel Wheels are familiar with the traditions of folk music and how a string band is supposed to sound.

Comedy Night (Neuse River Brewing, 518 Pershing Road, Raleigh) - Each month the show features some of the best stand up comedians in North Carolina. This month's headliner will be Sam Mazany.

Thursday

Charity Wine Dinner (Jimmy V's Steakhouse, 107 Edinburgh S., MacGregor Village, Cary) - This wine dinner features Skipstone Wines and benefits the Frankie Lemmon School and Developmental Center.

Carolina Ballet: Love in the Times of the Day (Duke Energy Center, 2 East South Street, Raleigh) - This is a ballet is just in time for Valentine's Day. Shows run through Feb. 17.

T.J. Miller (Goodnights, 861 W. Morgan Street, Raleigh) - J. Miller's background ranges from classically trained acting to sketch comedy and improv, and it all comes through in his stand-up. You might recognize him from "Chelsea Lately," "Transformers 4," "Cloverfield," "Deadpool," and HBO's "Silicon Valley."

Toni Braxton (DPAC, 123 Vivian Street, Durham) - Seven-time Grammy winner Toni Braxton will be taking her “As Long As I Live” tour on the road in support of her current “Sex & Cigarettes” album.

Friday

Blind Beer Tasting Class (Barley Labs, 4015 University Drive, Durham) - This competition starts at 7:30 p.m. at this dog-friendly bar.

The Bull City Robotic Rodeo (Durham Convention Center, 301 W. Morgan Street, Durham) - This three-day convention features mechanical bull rides, escape rooms, slinging showdowns, bull whip workshops, saloon girl Can-Cans and more.

Foothills Sexual Chocolate Stout Release Party (The Pour House, 224 S. Blount Street, Raleigh) - This event benefits Girls Rock NC.
