'Entire park flooded': Water recedes after heavy rain at Fuquay-Varina park

Fuquay-Varina's Mineral Spring Park on Friday looked more like a river when heavy rain fell in the area.

The WRAL Breaking News Tracker was there at 9:30 a.m., when the entire park was flooded after heavy rain fell, overtaking a creek that runs through the park.

Roads were closed in the area, and water came up to WRAL crews' ankles. The water receded by 11 a.m.

WRAL meteorologist Anthony Baglione said as much as 3 inches of rain fell in Fuquay-Varina, and more is on the way.

A flash flood warning is in effect for Wake County until 10:15 a.m. A flood advisory is in effect for Wake, Johnston and Harnett counties until 10:45 a.m.
