A small plane crashed in Northampton County on Thursday night.

A county communications spokesperson confirmed that the plane went down just after 8 p.m. near Highway 186. The pilot is believed to be the only person who was on the plane.

Northampton County Sheriff Jack Smith said the crash site was several miles east of Seaboard. Smith said the plane crashed in a wooded area and is stuck in trees. There were no details on the extent of the pilot's injuries.

Emergency crews are responding. The Federal Aviation Administration clarified the plane was a single-engine Cessna 150.
