Durham police responded to a shooting at the Streets at Southpoint on Sunday just weeks after another report of gun violence at the mall.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of the mall, according to police, around 2:15 p.m.

Police were originally responding to the mall for a report of a suspicious person with a weapon. As they were arriving, police said they received a report of shots being fired. Police were unable to locate a gunman or victim.

The incident did not appear to be random, police said, and there were no reported injures.

Police were already at the mall providing increased security when the incident happened.

Sunday's incident is just three weeks after a man selling jewelry at The Streets at Southpoint exchanged gunfire with two men trying to rob him on Black Friday.

Three people were injured in that shooting, including one of the suspected robbers. Three other people were hurt during the ensuing chaos, as shoppers fled the crowded mall or looked for safety.
