Duke, UNC top list of best hospitals in North Carolina

Duke University Hospital is topping U.S. News and World Report's annual list of best hospitals in North Carolina.

U.S. News and World Report released its rankings Tuesday.

Duke ranked in the top spot and 22nd overall in the nation. UNC Hospitals ranked second in N.C., and FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital tied for third with UNC Rex.

Duke Regional and WakeMed Raleigh rounded out the top 10.

In June, Duke Children's Hospital and UNC Children's Hospital were both recognized among the top pediatric providers in the Southeast and the state.

Duke was designated as the No. 1 hospital in N.C. for pediatric care, while UNC and Levine's Children's Hospital in Charlotte tied for No. 2., according to U.S. News and World Report.
