Durham deputies are searching for a man who evaded police after a high-speed chase early Thursday morning.

A man is on the run after a high-speed chase early Thursday morning in Durham.
The Durham Sheriff’s Office said the incident started just after 2 a.m. Thursday at U.S. Highway 70 and Peyton Ave.
Patrol units saw a driver who was speeding as well as driving carelessly and recklessly.
The driver of the car did not stop, and the incident ended with a jump-and-run on W. Club Blvd. near Sedgefield St.
The sheriff's office sent out a K-9 officer to track the driver, but the K-9 was unsuccessful.
The owner of the same car in this incident contacted the Durham Police Department to report the car stolen shortly after the pursuit.
