Driver crashes into Burger King on Poole Road in Raleigh

A driver is okay after falling asleep behind the wheel and crashing into a Burger King on Monday morning.

The crash was reported around 4 a.m. at the Burger King at 3500 Poole Road in Raleigh.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, the SUV crashed into the middle of the building, but the driver suffered only minor injuries.

No charges have been filed.

Officials said there is structural and likely electrical damage to the restaurant. Parts of the ceiling and walls were damaged and tables were overturned.

It appears the SUV got far into the building, close to the counter area.
