Author David Sedaris will appear in Raleigh for a special event at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium in April, the venue announced Monday.

"An Evening with David Sedaris" will be held Monday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m. Sedaris will be presenting all new readings and recollections, a Q&A session and book signing.

Sedaris is a bestselling author and regular National Public Radio. His newest books are "Happy-Go-Lucky" and "A Carnival of Snackery."

Sedaris grew up in Raleigh and often referencing his youth growing up in the Tar Heel State. He is hailed as America's leading humorist.

Tickets for "An Evening with David Sedaris" go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at martinmariettacenter.com.
