A Fayetteville woman was charged with trespassing on a school bus.

Nicole Jackie Howard was charged on Tuesday afternoon.

The news comes as Cumberland County School leaders have expressed concern about an increase in confrontations between parents and school bus drivers. Another woman in Cumberland County was charged on Feb. 3.

Officials said that student safety is jeopardized when parents try to get on school buses to have confrontations with bus drivers or students. A Monday report said there were four parents who tried to force their way onto a bus.

Last school year, three parents were charged with trespassing for entering school buses. The law is posted on the steps on each bus.

Howard was taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center and processed. She was given a written promise to appear and a March 22 court date.

The police remind the public that school personnel and students with a right to be on the bus are the only ones permitted to be on the bus.
