Crowds celebrated veterans with parade in Fayetteville

The annual Fayetteville Veterans Day Parade was held Saturday in front of the Airborne and Special Operations Museum.

The parade was established to honor veterans at Fort Bragg and those who support and help veterans in Cumberland County. The parade included a convoy of military vehicles, marching bands and much more.

WRAL Fayetteville reporter Gilbert Baez, a veteran Fort Bragg Army Ranger, served as the master of ceremonies.

The parade is one of three Veteran’s Day celebrations, part of Fayetteville’s Heroes Homecoming

Raleigh's Veteran's Day Parade and Ceremony began Saturday at 9 a.m. at W. Lenoir St. in downtown Raleigh. Groups from various veterans’ organizations, several high school Junior ROTC units and other military and veteran-related groups will proceed up Fayetteville St. to the Capitol Building where a ceremony was held at 11 a.m.

During Saturday’s events, veterans were honored from World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom eras.
