A Craven County man accused of raping a 5-year-old was arrested Wednesday in West Virginia, authorities said.

Michael Brandon Bryan, 37, of Cove City, was wanted for felony statutory rape of a child and felony statutory sex offense.

Authorities said he raped a 5-year-old who he was babysitting.

He was arrested without incident around 1:30 p.m. in Summersville, West Virginia, the Craven County Sheriff's Office said.

Multiple law enforcement agencies worked to apprehend Bryan, including the FBI, the SBI's fugitive and missing person task force, West Virginia State Police, Summersville police and the Nicholas County Sheriff's Office.
