As part of its phased reopening plan, Wake County Public Libraries has opened more locations for book lovers.

Fuquay-Varina, Leesville and Wake Forest community libraries are now open. They join the system's regional libraries where library patrons have been able to browse shelves in person since November. More community libraries are slated to open later this month.

Visits will look a bit different than they did pre-pandemic. Library security will take your temperature. Seating and tables aren't available. And plexiglass shields protect library workers. Visitors are asked to visit for no more than 15 to 30 minutes. Masks are required for everybody age five and up.

The libraries have always been a fantastic outlet for my family, and we have really enjoyed our quick visits to Cameron Village Regional Library since it reopened.

Here are the anticipated reopening dates for additional community libraries:

Thursday, January 21, 2021

  • Green Road Community Library
  • Middle Creek Community Library
  • Richard B. Harrison Community Library
  • Zebulon Community Library

Wednesday, January 27, 2021

  • Holly Spring Community Library
  • Morrisville Community Library
  • Southgate Community Library
  • Wendell Community Library

More information about returning to the libraries is on the system's website.
