Track out camp fair, plus a chance to win a free week

Year-round schools have now been in session for more than a month with two track outs already. Many parents are still looking for fun and educational options for their children when it's time to track out again.

Year-round schools have now been in session for more than a month with two track outs already. Many parents are still looking for fun and educational options for their children when it’s time to track out again.

This Saturday, Aug. 27, Over The Moon Play Space is hosting a Track Out Camp Fair. It is free to attend and will feature seven track-out camp programs for parents and kids to learn about. It’s free to attend and kids are able to play at Over The Moon for free. Many of the camps that will be at the Fair, will also be raffling off a week of free camp which can be hundreds of dollars.

Here are the camps that will be available for the meet and greet:

Over The Moon

This indoor playspace in Cary offers STEAM learning opportunities and playtime. Each week offers a different theme for children to explore through open play, crafts and science experiments. Keep kids mentally and physically active!

  • Ages K-5th grade
  • Cost: $315 a week
  • Hours: 8:30am-3:15pm

Rock Solid Warrior

This Ninja Warrior-style facility has locations in Apex and Fuquay-Varina. Full-day, half-day and single-day registration is available.

  • Ages: 5-12 years old
  • Hours: 8am-4pm with before and after care add-on options
  • Cost: About $300 for a full week

Conundrum Escapes

This Track Out camp runs in October during Wake County Track 4’s break. They also offer holiday and teacher work day camps for students in Wake and Johnston Counties. This camp allows kids to not only play, but design and build their own games. From board games to Minecraft, this camp is open for grades K through 10th.

  • Hours: 7:30am-6pm
  • Ages: K-10th grade
  • Cost: $200 per week, $50 per day

Hello Yellow

Hello Yellow is an art studio in Raleigh that is currently offering three weeks of Track Out camp this fall. Kids ages six to twelve can build their own dream house, learn about building their own business through art or explore art in the world around us.

  • Hours: 9am-3pm
  • Age: 6-12 years old
  • Cost: $400

SportHQ

SportHQ offers week-long camps all year long in Cary. Children have a chance to learn and play a variety of group sports through the week. Camp counselors also focus on teaching campers about respect, kindness, honest, patience and sportsmanship through play.

  • Hours: 8am-5pm
  • Age: 5-13 years old
  • Cost: $225 per week

Stemarga (STEM)

Stemarga offers half-day and full-day camps in Cary for older students. Morning camps focus on an engineering theme. Afternoon camps focus on life science. Camps are currently available through October 19th.

  • Ages: 3rd-8th grade
  • Hours: Half day camps run 8:30am-Noon or 1-4pm. Full day camps run 8:30am-4pm.
  • Cost: $375 per week for full day camp (morning and afternoon sessions)
  • $195 per week for a half-day camp (morning or afternoon session)

Lune Spark Center For Creativity

This is a brand new art program that just opened this month for teens and pre-teens. Campers will learn about acting/filmmaking, music, 2D animation, photography and digital art. Lunch is also included.

  • Ages: 7-17 years old
  • Hours: 8am-5pm
  • Cost: $375 per week

Academy for the Performing Arts

This is a dance school in Apex which offers one week of Track Out camp for each three-week track out time.

  • Ages: K-5th Grade
  • Hours: 9am-4pm
  • Costs: $300-$350

YMCA of the Triangle

The YMCA offers before and after school care at many Wake County Schools. They also operate Track Out camps that give kids the chance to swim, play games/sports and do arts and crafts

  • Ages: K-8th grade (or ages 5-14 years old)
  • Hours: 7am-6pm
  • Cost: $215-269 (see website for additional pricing information)

School House of Wonder

This is a nature-based outdoor camp where kids can learn about plant lore, snake identification and handling, whittling and more. There are two locations: Umstead State Park and Harris Lake County Park.

  • Ages: 5-12 years old
  • Hours: 8:15-5:30pm
  • Cost: $424 per week

City of Raleigh X-Press

The City of Raleigh offers various track out camps at it’s different parks and community centers. Activities include arts, crafts, games, indoor and outdoor playtime and other activities based on the on-site amenities.

  • Ages: K-6th grade
  • Hours: 8am-5pm
  • Costs: City Resident - $170 per week, Non-city resident - $185 per week
