The Town of Pittsboro announced Tuesday its town hall will be closed for one week due to staffing shortages related to COVID-19.

The building at 635 East St. will be closed until at least Monday, Aug. 15, impacting walk-in and drive-up services.

People who need to contact town hall can call 919-542-4621, extension 1100, and leave a voicemail. Utility payments can be made online. Residents can also pay by phone and by using a drop box.

The police department will also remain closed to visitors and walk-in services. Citizens can reach a police officer by calling 919-542-3200 during regular business hours or the non-emergency line 919-542-2911 during non-business hours.

"We thank you for your patience as we work through these challenges and look forward to resuming our normal levels of service soon," officials said.
