North Carolina lawmakers are wishing President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump a speedy recovery after testing positive from the coronavirus.

Gov. Roy Cooper said that he is praying for a quick and complete recovery for the Trumps.

"This virus is highly contagious and can be deadly, and the best way to protect each other and ourselves is to wear masks, wash hands and stay distant to stop the spread," Cooper said on Twitter.

Democratic 4th District Congressman David Price said that he wished the Trumps well in a statement on his twitter. Republican 5th District Congresswoman Virginia Foxx said that the president and first lady were "both in our prayers."

Donald Trump is a "fighter," said Republican U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis on Twitter. He also mentioned that he would be praying for a full and speedy recovery.

Sen. Minority Leader Dan Blue echoed the same statement that other lawmakers made on Twitter, but emphasized the importance of listening to medical experts to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

"COVID-19 is a dangerous and deadly virus. I wish the president and his family a speedy recovery," Blue said. "I hope this will be a reminder that we need to listen to medical experts and take this threat seriously. Wear a mask, wash your hands, wait six feet apart. No one is immune."

Republican 13th District Congressman Ted Budd said over Twitter, "Millions of people across our great country are behind you." Budd also said he was praying for Donald and Melania Trump.

Republican 7th District Congressman David Rouzer also that he was praying for the president over Twitter.

U.S. Rep. Mark Walker, a Greensboro Republican, said that he was also praying for the Trumps to have a quick and full recovery.

Republican 9th District Congressman Dan Bishop said that, "Courage and confidence are the essence of the American spirit. That is why those who would weaken America invariably focus on spreading fear and doubt. Many succumb. But as for this president and his family — never."

He also said that his prayers are with the president.
