Many assume they must wait for a negative COVID test before having an in-person visit or safely bringing in home help. CDC explains why not.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, you can visit others "after 10 days since the symptoms first appeared and 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications, and also given other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving."

While the loss of taste and smell may persist for weeks or months after recovery, this does not mean you must stay in isolation.

You may continue to test positive for three months or longer after you have recovered. However, if you get new symptoms, you should get tested again.
