Coast Guard: Missing boat with 2 men aboard last seen departing NC inlet

The U.S. Coast Guard is asking the public for help locating a sailboat with two men aboard.

Kevin Hyde, 64, and Joe DiTommasso, 76, are on the boat, which was last seen Saturday, Dec. 3, departing from Cape May, New Jersey. The boat may have stopped in Morehead City, North Carolina.

The U.S. Coast Guard is asking the public for help locating a sailboat with two men aboard.

The vessel, described as a 30-foot Catalina sailboat with a bluish-purple hull, a white superstructure and white sails, never reached its destination of Marathon, Florida.

Kevin Hyde, 64, and Joe DiTommasso, 76, are on the boat, which was last seen Saturday, Dec. 3, departing from Oregon Inlet, North Carolina.

It's current whereabouts are not known.

The Coast Guard shared photos of the men and the sailboat, named Atrevida II.

Anyone with information about the missing boat and boaters is asked to call the Coast Guard Atlantic Area Command Center at 757-398-6700.
