Police in Cary are searching for a suspect who they believed robbed convenience stores three times since April.

The most recent robbery occurred Wednesday at the Stop and Go at 301 N. Harrison Ave. Surveillance photos and video captured the suspect on the move.

Police said the suspect entered the store and demanded the clerk open the cash register. Then, he stole money and cigarettes before fleeing on foot. The suspect implied he had a weapon but did not display it during the incident.

According to Cary police, the suspect appears to be the same man who robbed another Stop and Go, this one located at 1350 Old Apex Road, on April 6 and May 8.

In those robberies, the suspect also stole cash and cigarettes.

In the photos and videos, the suspect is wearing a dark gray hoodie, Adidas sneakers and purple latex gloves.

Police are turning to the public for help identifying the man.

"This is the third time this suspect has successfully robbed a convenience store, and each time he gets a little bolder with his actions," said Captain John Szymeczek of the Cary Police Department. "[On Wednesday] there were customers in the store during the incident. We’re hoping the public will be able to identify or provide information that aids in his arrest before someone gets hurt.”

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Det. Lillian Hamlin at 919-462-3810 or file a report anonymously with Cary Crime Stoppers at (919) 460-4636.
