Cary man shot at for following suspected car thieves, police say

Cary police say a man was shot at after he followed suspected car thieves.

The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. at an apartment complex on Larned Loop, close to NW Cary Parkway and Evans Road, where police said individuals were seen going through multiple cars.

A neighbor saw them and got in his car to follow the group to the intersection of Singh Lane and NW Cary Parkway.

According to police, when the group realized they were being followed, they shot at the neighbor and drove off.

Nobody was hurt and no arrests were made.

The incident is under investigation.
