Bulls dominate Knights 15-8

Bulls catcher Blake Hunt mashed three homers and recorded six RBI, left fielder Niko Hulsizer homered and drove in two runs and right fielder Ruben Cardenas knocked a two-run homer in Durham’s 15-8 victory over the Charlotte Knights Sunday evening at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
The Bulls struck early in the first when first baseman Ben Gamel drove in a run, before Hulsizer knocked a two-run RBI double and Hunt smashed a three-run 424ft homer. Second baseman Jonathan Aranda homered and Hunt recorded went yard again in the third. Aranda scored on a fielding error to extend the Bulls’ lead to 10-2, before Cardenas smashed a three-run homer and Hulsizer homered on a fly ball to left field. Hunt recorded his third homer of the day in the seventh to bring the final score to 15-8.
Charlotte LF Victor Reyes homered and recorded an RBI double and C Carlos Perez drove in two runs.
Bulls starter Cooper Criswell (3.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 2 SO) earned the win, while Garrett Davila (3.0 IP, 9 H, 9 R, 0 BB, 5 SO) suffered the defeat.
Durham returns home to Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Tuesday, June 20 to start a six-game homestand with the Syracuse Mets, the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets. First pitch of the series opener is set for 6:35pm.
