A big showdown in the second week of the season has led to a new No. 1 team in the HighSchoolOT statewide boys lacrosse rankings.

Charlotte Catholic, by virtue of its win at Cannon School, now assumes the top spot. Cardinal Gibbons slides up to second as Cannon drops to fifth.

Green Level also picked up a big win over Lake Norman, allowing the Gators to move into fourth. The Wildcats remain in the top 10 at No. 7 overall.

There are four new teams this week: Charlotte Country Day, Myers Park, Community School of Davidson, and Ardrey Kell are replacing Northwood, Hoggard, Apex, and R.J. Reynolds
