Some of the state's top lacrosse teams gathered at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte for the 8th Annual Champions Challenge on Saturday.

The event is a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project.

STATEMENT FROM HSOT ON COVERAGE OF THE EVENT:

"On Saturday, HighSchoolOT sent a crew to cover the Champions Challenge in Charlotte, a lacrosse event benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project featuring some of the top high school lacrosse teams in the state. After covering the first three games, our crew was told by event organizers they did not have permission to be at the games and had to leave.

We regret that we were not able to cover the remainder of the event, but we look forward to covering lacrosse games throughout the remainder of the regular season and through the playoffs."
