The Person County sheriff confirmed that a body was found around 9:45 a.m. in Mayo Lake near the bridge on NC Highway 49. The Person County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
It's the body of a man who was in his 20's, according to the sheriff's office.
They believe they have identified the man but are waiting for confirmation from next of kin.
At this time, the sheriff's office said no foul play is suspected.
