Body found in parking lot near Chapel Hill business

Police found a body in a parking lot on Wednesday morning near the Chapel Hill-Carrboro line.

Around 8:08 a.m., Carrboro police responded to Al’s Garage on South Merritt Mill Road for a death investigation.

Officers found a body inside a vehicle in the parking lot of the business.

Police are working to identify the person and investigate what led to the person's death.

Police don't believe the surrounding community is under any threat.
