Award-winning singer, songwriter to deliver keynote address at IBMA Business Conference

Award-winning singer, songwriter Sarah Jarosz will deliver the keynote address at the International Bluegrass Music Association's Business Conference later this month. 

The conference is part of the IBMA Virtual World of Bluegrass, which will also feature an awards show and performances.

The business conference keynote address is scheduled for Sept. 28.

“Having attended IBMA as a young kid just getting into bluegrass, and having returned more recently as a performer at their Raleigh conference, I’m deeply honored to have been asked to be this year’s keynote speaker. I look forward to helping kick things off," Jarosz said.

The business conference will being at 11 a.m. Sept. 28 through Oct. 2. Each day will begin with a special presentation at 11 a.m., followed by educational sessions including information on how to navigate COVID-19 relief programs, how to polish your online presence and band coaching.

The Gig Fair, one of the most popular parts of the conference each year, will be done online. The IBMA Virtual Exhibit Hall will also be available online.

To view the keynote address, users must be registered for the IBMA Business Conference. Registration is $99 for IBMA members and $149 for non-members.

The conference is part of the World of Bluegrass events, which include virtual music festival Bluegrass Live!  The Travelin’ McCourys with special guest Del McCoury, Steep Canyon Rangers and Jerry Douglas & Odessa Settles and Sierra Hull & Molly Tuttle will perform during the festival on Oct. 2-3.

Bluegrass Live! performances can be viewed for free via the Swapcard app. Viewers need to register for a free IBMA World of Bluegrass Music Pass in order to view the content.

Viewers can also check out performances via Capitol Broadcasting Company properties WRAL-TV, WRAL.com + streaming apps and digital radio “That Station." Many of the performances will be streamed on WRAL.com and WRAL's Roku, FireTV and Apple TV apps. There will also be a special section on WRAL.com for bluegrass content and select performances. WRAL and That Station will cover and showcase viewing opportunities to viewers and listeners within newscasts and special programming.
