More than 50 stores in North Carolina were recently fined for price scanning errors.

Whether you’re shopping for friends and family or even yourself, holiday shoppers should fixate on present price tags as much as possible.

The North Carolina Consumer Services’ Standards Division is singling out 70 stores spanning 38 counties all with the same problem of excessive price scanner errors. Here’s a look at just a few of the offenders in Wake County.

First, we go to the Target at Walnut St. in Cary. An inspection in found 12 items out of 300 rung up for more than listed. The store was ordered to paid $2,490 in fines.

At the Walmart Neighborhood Market on NC Highway 55, inspectors found 30 items out of 300 were lower than what they rung up for. They also failed three previous inspections. Walmart on Highway 55 in Cary must pay $3,640 in fines.

At to Walmart Supercenter at 6600 Glenwood Ave. in Raleigh, an inspection in found 31 items out of 300 rung up for more than listed. That Walmart must pay $2,610 in fines.
