Apex Council honors victims killed in Apex shootings

The town of Apex started their council meeting Tuesday night with a moment of silence in honor of two women killed in their Apex neighborhood last week.

The lights were lowered, and a moment of silence was held. Following that, the Chaplain offered a prayer for the families of Gabrielle Raymond and Nancy Taylor.

When the prayers were done, a framed picture of the two were placed on a podium.

Apex Council moved forward with the meeting.

There was no mention of Harry Hardman, 37, who is charged with killing Raymond and Taylor.

Police are still working to determine a motive.

Those in attendance chose to focus on the two precious lives lost.

“We are a small community," Jacques Gilbert said. "We know how to support each other in the good times and not-so-good times.”

A vigil will be held for the victims on Monday, January 29th, at the Apex town hall courtyard.
