After getting canceled because of COVID, Blue Jay Point County Park's annual Songbird Celebration will go this year virtually.

The event celebrates the return of migratory songbirds and World Migratory Bird Day.

On Saturday, April 24, the park's Facebook page will include a variety of bird-related presentations. They include activities, crafts and storytimes.

At the park, which is north of Raleigh in Wake County, there will be some self-guided activities, including a StoryWalk, bird watching at the Education Center and letterboxing.

Those self-guided activities will be available 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., April 24, and for two weeks after the event. If you go, be sure to check out Blue Jay Point's new playground too.

More information is on the park's website.
