After 14-hour search, man found in Apex
After a 14-hour search, the Wake County Sheriff’s Office announced that a missing man had been found alive and was getting medical treatment.
Cecil Olive, 71, was reported missing from the 8900 block of Barker Road in New Hill late Thursday evening.
On Friday morning, the Wake County Sheriff's Office issued a Silver Alert for Olive and set up a command center to lead the search at Apex Friendship High School.
Just after 3 p.m. on Friday, the sheriff's office announced that he had been found on New Hill Olive Chapel Road, mere minutes from where he had last been seen.
Representatives of multiple agencies participated in the search for Olive on foot, with help from the K-9 team, by drone and by car.
“These groups did incredibly difficult work given the conditions, and we are very grateful for their partnership and cooperation,” said Wake County Sheriff Willie Rowe.
