6-month-old giraffe at NC Zoo dies from crashing into gate
Fenn, a whirlwind of energy and charm, captivated employees and visitors alike.
One of the North Carolina Zoo's most beloved animals has died.
The zoo announced that Fenn, a six-month-old giraffe calf, died from recently-sustained injuries.
Fenn was nursing when he was unexpectedly startled by another giraffe and bolted, colliding with a nearby gate and falling to the ground. Fenn sustained head and neck trauma from the fall, leading to his death.
Fenn was described as energetic and vibrant and was cherished by employees and visitors.
