6 drive-in theaters with family-friendly flicks in November

People want to get out and about safely these days, and a growing number of businesses and groups are offering drive-in movies. Here are 6 local drive-in movie experiences with family-friendly flicks in the next couple of weeks.

Food Truck Flix

"Night at the Museum 2" is scheduled for 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 13, at Frontier RTP in Research Triangle Park. Parking passes are $25 per vehicle, and all profits are donated to a different nonprofit each month. Each movie screening also includes a rotation of local food trucks. Pace Family Farms

This Clayton destination is offering Friday Farm Movie Nights through December. Parking fees are $15. The schedule includes "The Princess Diaries" on Nov. 13; "Cheaper by the Dozen" on Nov. 20; and "The Polar Express" on Nov. 27. "Elf" and "Home Alone" are planned in December. Capital Drive-In

This Wake Forest outdoor theater will feature "Spies in Disguise" at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 14. Passes start at $20 per vehicle. Tickets and details are on Capital Drive-In's website.

Bull City Reels

Organized by Durham Parks, Bull City Reels has been featuring a variety of family-friendly flicks. "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" is scheduled for Nov. 20. "The Wiz" is slated for Nov. 21. And "Home Alone" is set for Dec. 5. Tickets are free, but they must be reserved online in advance. Note that spots do fill up for this event. It takes place at Durham County Stadium.

Miracle on Market Street

In Chapel Hill, the Lumina Theater will screen "Elf" on the Southern Village Lawn on Nov. 21. Tickets are $25 per outdoor pod, which can contain up to five people.

Raleigh Road Outdoor Theater

And in Henderson, the region's longest running drive-in theater has all kinds of movies slated, including "Toy Story" and "E.T." on Nov. 14. Henderson is about an hour from Raleigh. Tickets start at $5 for kids ages 3 to 11 and $8 for adults ages 12 and up.
