40-year-old man killed in hit-and-run on US 70 in Johnston County

A man was found dead Friday morning in Johnston County after a hit-and-run on U.S. Highway 70.

Police identified the victim as 40-year-old Hector Rodriquez Habana from Clayton.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol (SHP) is asking for the public's help to find the person(s) responsible.

Around 1:20 a.m., the SHP said a man was hit by a car near U.S. 70 Business in Wilson's Mills.

The SHP said the man appeared to have been run over by at least one vehicle, which did not stop.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.

The SHP issued a "BE-ON-THE-LOOKOUT" notice to other law enforcement agencies to look for a vehicle or vehicles that may show damage to the front end.
