2 NC women facing charges after being accused of forcing teen into prostitution
A Wake County judge on Tuesday raised the bonds for two women who prosecutors say were part of a human trafficking investigation in which a 15-year-old was forced into prostitution.
Kymber Loniece Andre, 29, of 10820 Alto Lane in Raleigh, and Olivia Sunshine Lowrey, 20, of 387 Old Halifax Road in Louisburg, were each being held on a $75,000 bond at the Wake County Jail, where both have been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and promoting prostitution of a minor., according to court documents.
Lowrey was in court for a first appearance hearing while Andre appeared on video.
Jacquelyn Adcock, an assistant district attorney, told the judge that both women forced the victim into prostitution.
The prosecutor says the women drove the teen girl to a hotel near the airport to meet a customer they connected with online but it wasn’t a real customer.
Adcock said it was an undercover police officer who was offered the services of the girl for $100.
During the hearing, Andre denied the allegations and asked the judge to lower her bond so she could be released.
"I don’t even know who this girl was," said Andre, who allowed the teen to move in with her. "I was just like, everything is hitting me all at once out of nowhere. I don’t know what’s going on. I need to go home to my kids."
