21-year-old woman charged with murder of teenager in Goldsboro

A woman was charged with first-degree murder months after a 17-year-old was shot and killed in Goldsboro.

Kenyatta Feronte Sutton, 21, of Goldsboro, was charged May 1, months after a shooting on Jan. 13 claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy in the 900 block of North Madison Avenue.

The teenager was found with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Sutton was being held in the Wayne County Detention Center under no bond.

The investigation is ongoing. Further arrests are possible, according to police.
