Social media threat prompts soft lockdown at all Nash public schools

A cautionary soft lockdown was in place Thursday afternoon and lifted hours later for all Nash County Public Schools (NCPS) due to a social media threat.

The lockdown was in place as a preventative measure as law enforcement investigates the credibility of the threat, according to NCPS.

Classes continue as normal during a soft lockdown, but there will be increased law enforcement presence in and around Nash County schools.

Nash County Public Schools will provide updates as the situation unfolds.
