Skeletal remains found in Fayetteville; police investigating as homicide

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, Hope Mills police alerted Fayetteville officers to the discovery of skeletal remains while conducting an unrelated investigation in the woods near Bordeaux Park Drive.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police found skeletal remains on Tuesday in Fayetteville.

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, Hope Mills police alerted Fayetteville officers to the discovery of skeletal remains while conducting an unrelated investigation in the woods near Bordeaux Park Drive.

Officers responded to the woods around 4:03 p.m. and found the skeletal remains in an open area.

Fayetteville police’s homicide unit is assuming the investigation.
