Jason Jennings

Reporter

Professional Experience:
2005 to present: sports reporter/photographer, WRAL-TV; 2004 to 2005: sports reporter/photographer/anchor, KCBD-TV, Lubbock, Texas; 2002 to 2004: sports reporter/photographer/producer/news reporter, KOMU-TV, Columbia, Mo.

News Philosophy:
I want to tell stories that are as fair, accurate and as interesting as possible. These stories should include compelling personalities, strong visuals and important topics.

Education:
Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia

Birthplace:
Raleigh, N.C.

Favorite Books & Movies:

I can sit and read anything by John Feinstein. Buzz Bissinger's "Three Nights in August" has to be up there. For the most part, I enjoy reading nonfiction about music and sports. As for movies, there are too many to mention, but I'll try: "Blues Brothers," "Kill Bill," "Blazing Saddles," "Rocky" parts I-IV, "Forrest Gump," "Jaws" and anything by the Coen brothers.

Favorite Web Sites:

WRAL.com, of course. Others include (but aren't limited to) Onion.com, CBS Sportsline, YouTube and the now defunct Online Guitar Archive.

Likes Best About North Carolina:
It's home! And there's no better place for college sports.

Most Memorable Assignments:
By far, it's the Carolina Hurricanes winning the Stanley Cup in 2006. I thought about retiring that night. How could it get any better?
