RDU: Employee at airport Starbucks charged with trying to bring weapon inside
An employee of the company that operates the Starbucks at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport was arrested Friday morning after trying to bring a weapon into the airport, officials said.
Posted — UpdatedAn airport spokesman said officials got a call Friday morning about a firearm at the Terminal 2 checkpoint.
"This morning, in response to a call regarding a firearm at the Terminal 2 checkpoint, Kayla Evans, an employee of HMS Host, which operates the Starbucks locations at RDU, was arrested for a concealed carry weapon violation," airport officials said in a statement.
A spokeswoman for HMS Host said the employee has a license to carry a concealed weapon, but did not have it on her person when she approached security.
