RALEIGH, N.C. — Firefighters were on the scene of a townhouse fire on Buffaloe road Friday night in Raleigh.

The incident occurred when a heating unit on the second floor failed and was located too close to combustibles. Crews responded to the scene and were able to contain the fire in one room, preventing it from spreading.

No one was injured, according to Jamie Cheveralls, Raleigh Fire Department Public Information Officer.

A neighbor told WRAL News that the woman who lives there had to jump from her balcony onto the bed of her truck to escape the fire.

He said he was talking to 911 when he got outside as she was dangling from the balcony.
