Police looking for two men after razor blades found on shopping cart handles in Siler City

Officers with the Siler City Police Department are asking for the public's help in identifying two persons of interest after several razor blades were found on shopping cart handles at the Walmart on U.S. Highway 64.

SILER CITY, N.C. — Officers with the Siler City Police Department are asking for the public's help in identifying two persons of interest after several razor blades were found on shopping cart handles at the Walmart on U.S. Highway 64.

Officers are looking to identify the men below.

A white male who appears to be in his 30s with a thin build and brown hair. The man was seen driving a tan, late model Chevrolet Suburban or late model GMC SUV.

The other man is described as a white man in his 30s with a medium build, brown hair and a thick, heavy beard with a light mustache. He was last seen wearing a bright yellow hat, a blue T-shirt with a MoPar logo on front, a dark jacket, dark pants and work boots. He was a passenger in the tan vehicle.

Authorities said the incidents, which happened Sunday, may be related to an attempt to shoplift. One person was injured.

"I can't believe anyone would do something so mean," said Tally Askins, who shops at Walmart.

"Nowadays with the way things are going you just have to look out for yourself. Look out for others and don't let your guard down," said Kenneth Brooks, who shops at Walmart.
