Person killed after being hit by car on NC 22 in Chatham County
Around 6:45 a.m., state troopers said the pedestrian was walking on the northbound side of NC 22 when a vehicle that was also traveling northbound struck the person. The victim died at the scene, according to state troopers.

A person was killed after being hit by a car Monday morning in Chatham County.
The crash happened at N.C. Highway 22 and N.C. Highway 42.
Around 6:45 a.m., state troopers said the pedestrian was walking on the northbound side of NC 22 when a vehicle that was also traveling northbound struck the person. The victim died at the scene, according to state troopers.
State troopers said the driver who hit the person stayed at the scene and attempted to help.
State troopers said no one has been charged at this time.
The road was closed for about two hours.
