Person killed after being hit by car in Fayetteville

At 7:19 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the area of Eastern Boulevard and Owen Drive in reference to a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A person was killed Monday night after she was hit by a car near Eastern Boulevard in Fayetteville.

At 7:19 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the area of Eastern Boulevard and Owen Drive in reference to a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

When officers arrived, Emergency Medical Service personnel were transporting the victim to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where the victim was pronounced dead.

The Fayetteville Police Department said the preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was crossing Eastern Boulevard and was not at the guarded intersection. A woman who was driving on the road had just gone through the green light and collided with the pedestrian.

This is an active investigation.
