<b>GARNER, N.C.</b> — A pedestrian hit by a car Monday night on U.S. Highway 70 is seriously injured.

According to the Garner Police Department, the crash occurred around 9 p.m. in front of a gas station at 1501 U.S. 70 Highway West.

The pedestrian was in the roadway and appeared to be crossing U.S. 70 when they were struck, polices said.

The person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

According to police, an investigation is underway to determine if charged will be filed.
