Pedestrian fatally struck on US-421 in Harnett County
An investigation is underway after a person was struck and killed on U.S. Highway 421 in Harnett County late Saturday.

ERWIN, N.C. — An investigation is underway after a person was struck and killed on U.S. Highway 421 in Harnett County late Saturday.
According to officials with the State Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was struck around 11 p.m. near 8461 US-421 in Erwin.
The victim was declared dead at the scene.
Officials say this was not a hit-and-run. The driver of the car has not been identified.
