Payless liquidation sale in Garner, NC store

Payless ShoeSource is planning to close all 2,100 U.S. and Puerto Rico locations with liquidation sales starting as early as Sunday!

According to NBCnews.com, going-out-of-business sales will begin as early as Sunday, Feb. 17 at some locations. Stores will be closing for good between March and May. The online store will also be shutting down.

Payless filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy two years ago in April 2017 and closed a number of stores at that time. Unfortunately, it was not enough to keep the chain going.

For those who wear harder to find larger sizes, including women's size 11 and 12 shoes, this is not welcome news.

The Payless Facebook page includes many comments from customers concerned about where they will find affordable shoes in their sizes.

Payless representatives have not yet responded to comments on their social media.

As of Friday night, 2/15/19, online ordering was unavailable on their website and instead they have included a link to find nearby stores.
