One dead in three-car crash on I-95 Sunday afternoon

According to authorities, the woman was driving southbound on the Interstate when her car veered over the median and hit two cars driving north. Witnesses said a pickup involved tumbled "two or three times," seriously injuring two people. The driver of the third car was also seriously injured.

FOUR OAKS, N.C. — A woman died Sunday afternoon in a car crash on Interstate 95 in Johnston County.

According to authorities, the woman was driving southbound on the Interstate when her car veered over the median and hit two cars driving north.

Witnesses said the pickup tumbled "two or three times," seriously injuring two people. The driver of the third car was also seriously injured.

Emergency crews took all three people to WakeMed for treatment.

The State Highway Patrol is investigating.
